What are Claude Code mods?
A Claude Code mod (people also search for it as a Claude mod) is a Claude Code plugin whose JavaScript or TypeScript event handlers run inside Claude Code itself. A mod can draw panes and bands in the interface, rewrite prompts and tool calls, add slash commands, and approve or refuse a tool call. Mods need Claude Code 2.1.287 or later and are on by default. They are not sandboxed: a mod runs with your permissions, so every mod here shows the events it hooks and the API calls it makes, read with claude plugin validate.
